I made the double batch in a 9 x 13 pan. I was craving fudgey and indulgent brownies and these certainly fit the bill. I don’t have any on hand and have lots of semisweet chips. Most of the time thick brownies bake too much on the outside before they are done in the middle, but not these. LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE! PPS I love them too! After taking some of these peace making goodies to said neighbor, not a squeak from a mouse nor a fart from a frog can be heard. There is an almond flour blend called Mama’s.

I always forget about that trick of using a plastic knife to cut brownies but it totally works!

Hi Anj, Usually this is the result of either overbaking (an easy fix for next time!) The middle shelf cooks them a lot faster, slightly burns them on the top and dries them out a little. And the resultant brownies are have such an intense chocolate flavor with sweet bits of melted chocolate chips throughout. But the results are awesome. Best brownies ever!

I was a little short on cocoa powder so to make up for it, I added a little instant espresso granules. So fudge like, absolutely delicious. Super easy to make and perfect consistancy for a brownie. But the math instructor in me can’t help but say – an 8X 12 pan is not square, it is a rectangle. Either dark or milk is great too! To change it up for St. Patrick’s Day, I subbed 1/2 cup of Bailey’s for half of the butter. My husband and friends loved these! I also added some chopped walnuts for a crunch. I cut the granulated sugar by 3/4 cup and the brownies are still really sweet but not overly so. That’s my favorite approach, but my husband loves them without the nuts. Any suggestion how much sugar shd I reduce. I halved the recipe (scrambled two eggs in a bowl and poured out 3/4 to get a “half” an egg) and baked them in a little 8×4 inch loaf pan. I dont know what i did wrong. Line the bottom and sides of a 9×9 inch square baking pan* with aluminum foil or parchment, leaving an overhang on all sides.
