I would appreciate any help. I’m trying to build a definition which will detect whether a curve is in the x or y direction, then give the command to extrude in the opposite direction. I know how the extrusion part works, but I’m having trouble with creating the logic for Grasshopper to determine which direction to extrude in. You forgot some graft ... For example on xyz component you need a graft in Y.

thanks for the reply. Many examples on this forum, the code posted in that thread is just one way. Grasshopper is a virtual phone system that provides a number of great features, including a second phone number, but you still need a service provider, and a main phone number, where your Grasshopper calls will be forwarded. I created it with the evaluate curve command and I am controling it thourgh a slider to attract to points to the center and change the shape . New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.

I have followed your steps but somehow, i get a very different result. Cookies help us deliver our Services. The I move odd and even points with a different ratio => 2 graph mapper. I dont want to modify the extrusion level but the shape of the pattern controlling the anchor point of the star . Press J to jump to the feed. Then you will use a dispatch command, create two new numbers (one being amountx and amountY) and merge then together and put them in the list that needs to be dispatched, and the higher/smaller list into the dispatch pattern. It will help you a lot.

Here an example of attractor, if you want to learn the best is to try to recreate it with just the images. 0 Comments Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. You could define a vector between the start and end point of the curve (endpoints, vector 2pt). 0 Likes, Added by June Lee Report an Issue  |  This will not affect the syntax of the code editor.

Would you please check my file and help me with what's wrong. Sorry, I'm not going to watch a video. I’m trying to build a definition which will detect whether a curve is in the x or y direction, then give the command to extrude in the opposite direction.

Help with Grasshopper I’m in Architecture school and I’m just starting to learn how to use Grasshopper. After this I used two simple booleans connected to they x and y of DeVec which connected to respective UnitX and UnitY components which led into separate extrusion components. A graft will make a sort of "for" For each leave in Y of the tree (Y) combine with all the list in Y. so my target is on the picture 1. Grasshopper is the coding app for beginners. 0 Comments No. Hello everyone, I am very new to grasshopper and i am learning how to deal with it while making an assignement. One of the keys to that code is this part, where the center point of each polygon is pulled to a curve; the pulled point becomes "Center of scaling" ('C' input to 'Scale') for that polygon. Tweet

Like Joseph said tree, graft ... so structureation of data are very important.

so my target is on the picture 1. Did you happen to notice this thread earlier today? And some re-mapping of the scaling factor is used, based on the distance the point was pulled. This community is for professional, student, and hobbyist users of McNeel's Rhinoceros 3d modeling software and the Grasshopper generative modeling plug-in. For designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms, Grasshopper® is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. What I want to do is to copy it with different values on the slider to have a changing pattern.

English (US) checkmark Español (América Latina/EE.UU.) I didn't follow this 100% but you got me on the right track with the (endpoints, vector2pt, deconstruct vector). Facebook I simplify a lot the generation of pattern. I created it with the evaluate curve command and I am controling it thourgh a slider to attract to points to the center and change the shape . Afterwards you deconstruct the vector, and compare the numbers of x and y (deconstruct vector, smaller than).
