Despite being made of metal, we found the stand to be somewhat lightweight and therefore easy to knock over if tipped slightly or pulled by a headphone cable. Even when you clap hard with the app in auto gain mode, it does not clip and it still picks up whispers 2ft from the mic at the same time, so the app is very solid as well. The mic exceeded my expectations and I have no problem recommending it. It does a wonderful job.
Recording a male voice with some depth to it, you can get into boomy territory pretty quickly here, especially if the speaker is close to the mic. The main thing is that it be universal in technical terms.

It has suffered nearly as many mishaps as the previous Samson with no affect on sound quality, so I think it's fair to say it's pretty durable, though this shouldn't be taken as a suggestion or recommendation to treat it harshly.. It includes a zero-latency 3.5mm headphone output so you can hear yourself through the mic with no delay.

For singing vocals, it really depends on the performance—the compression that's baked in here could possibly help a recording if the singer's performance is dynamically varied.
