Really good Monster Hunter-esk game that has its own style. There are a lot of systems to get familiar with, mostly based around upgrading your skills and gear, and there are a lot of menus and "Confirm" buttons to navigate through. The voice work is noteworthy for not having any of the over-the-top character-types or delivery that pop up in a lot of games and anime. Don’t forget to also find some of your favorite weapon types with some elemental improvements, which means you should befriend your local blacksmith. These continue when you are thrown into a bit of action, and I missed a few of the tutorial messages as a result. I love the speed. The plot is fairly simple, but the characters spend a lot of time explaining it and the game's systems in both voiceovers and text. Each one has a varied move set and list of abilities. One thing that annoyed the hell out of me in MHW was the loading time. Below, you’ll find a few tidbits about how to attack the game, and understand some of its deeper mechanics. TOukiden 2 is all about killing the beast and gtfo. But some are only available via DLC that's being released over time.

Playing with bow in Toukiden 2 was extremely boring to me.

There's also longswords in this game. A circular gauge in the upper right hand corner will track your miasma exposure. The mitama are essentially the souls of past heroes and heroines from random time periods. And one of the keys to such battles is the mitama. Arguably the biggest addition found in Toukiden 2 is the Demon Hand. The awesome part of the mitamas is that you can equip 3 for additional bonuses that normally can't bee accessed otherwise. However, there is no doubt MHW has far better graphics than the outdated graphics of Toukiden2. Cleansing areas and finding shrines will lower miasma exposure, and if the meter fills, it’s game over. I def recommend using a controller (I usually play everything in KB&M). They’ll cleanse areas, heal themselves, and fight freely. How does the Mitama system work ? Attacking from behind improve your chances for a well aimed blow. This gives the player abiliity to combine a fully upgraded rank 8 weapon and a level 10 mitama to produce a rank 9 weapon. I'm satisfied so far, but I'd add a few caveats, at least up to the point where I am at the time of writing this, a couple hours into the game.I did get my fix for the atmosphere of a fantasy Japan I was looking for. With each mission you set out on, you can bring three friends with you. How is it good ? There are various types of Mitama, ten in all, like Attack, Deceit, Spirit, Defense, Speed, etc. Oh and do try to hop on multiplayer and find players.

The Last of Us Part II Wins Game of the Year... Immortals Fenyx Rising Gets a New Animated Trailer. It’s fairly interesting and fun to play with. Demon hand (9/10) – TOukiden 2 has something called demon hand. Graphic (6/10) – If you have played DW series, you can expect the similar graphic. Have fun ! There is a healthy amount of weapon variation within Toukiden 2. The materials you need for fortification, and crafting, are listed when viewing each item. I will probably update this review as I play more Toukiden 2. where's that NPC ? Where do I buy weapons ?

The double bar mechanism of combat is still present in Toukiden 2. There are plenty of weapons to play in Toukiden 2, but only few are interesting enough unlike MHW where all weapons have extremely unique playstyle and just as fun as other weapons. If you’re low, and need help, switch them to ‘Aid’. Slayers! Each ‘Age’ is built to represent a certain time period, and functions like an area. It's worth pointing out for anyone who might be on the fence due to the game's Japanese title and art style. The gameplay, however, has a lot of Japanese design elements that I found somewhat tedious. Comparison ReviewI will compare the two games in several categories to tell you what I thought Toukiden did well and failed in others. Toukiden 2 has a lot options to help you fight the demons you encounter throughout the game. However, it doesn’t mean this game is without its own merit and depth. The subtitles are also well-translated and I read/heard several parts where the developers clearly made an effort to change some culturally-specific phrases into ones that would work better for English players. if you want to kill cool demons with strong cultural backgrounds this is your game! However, if you have played MHW, expect to be disappointed slightly. For example, Club does more damage if you hit enemy with its tip and rely heavily on charge moves. Hopefully I'll be able to experiment and figure those out for myself when the game stops aggressively guiding me along. In general, despite the slow and tedious start, nothing has put me off from wanting to get further into the game's world, but I think it's good to be warned that the pacing and hand-holding at the start can be a bit over-bearing.
