The fact that dungeons are a series of corridors with little to no variation doesn't help. Aluche isn’t alone in her fight. This game is more fun, and just as beautiful.

There's sadly just not much to say about the visual presentation beyond the characters. We also get your email address to automatically create an account for you in our website. Due to the moon phase limit, you won't be able to maximize your affinity with all companions in one playthrough, but new game + does help in that regard. Firstly you can only go out for 10 minutes at a time (this amount gradually increases as you level up and invest in specific skills) each day, and each day advances the moon counter, which when it runs out, it's game over. Nights of Azure was the first game developed by Gust where the developer of the Atelier series tried branching out with a different setting and a story that promised to be extremely touching. The first is the Double Chase, which charges up as you and your accompanying partner attack the same enemies. It’s still a passable hack and slash game, but there are much better offerings. The new game will also carry over ally affinity levels as well as any and all items (a boost to various stats or resistances) obtained in the last playthrough. A waning moon casts an ominous shadow across the land, basking the world in eternal night. Compared to the original, Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is an utter disgrace. Ever wondered what those wacky acronyms on your screen mean?

The main characters are certainly detailed, but not so much that they should be causing this many frames to drop.

Time limits in games are hard to balance, and Nights of Azure 2 doesn't exactly meet this tricky balance well. If the moon fully wanes and you get a new moon, you will receive a game over. Human, animals, even inanimate objects became crazed demonic creatures that stalked the night. All rights reserved. This game I did, and I have to say....no regrets.

With them, Aluche has to find Lylisse again and defeat the Moon Queen. The PC version reportedly runs at 60 FPS, so consider that when considering this title. It's surprising the level of hiccups there are given how bare bones the settings and creatures are. Wish we could see more of aluche (one of my fave characters atm) underrated as well.

Bosses are tougher and require a bit more focus, but Lily Bursts make even these battles almost trivial due to how powerful they are. Nights of Azure 2 doesn't improve much what was wrong with the original game, taking a few step backs in the process which make the experience slightly worse. Visually, Gust has always been unique in consistently presenting a beautiful artistic style throughout their games, and while Nights of Azure 2 still doesn’t falter in this area, it continues to present it behind a more darker and eerie exterior. A lot of this could have been avoided by allowing for the fast travel points in the field (Gates of Distortion) to connect to other locations. PC version tested (review code provided by the publisher). However, it’s sad to say that Nights of Azure 2 suffers from more graphical implications than that of its predecessor.

It was never annoyingly loud or whiny, so at the very least I can say they did a good job there. And a true ending might not be worth the time investment of the affinity system. Of course, the game isn’t without fanservice, and even more so in this sequel as the cast isn’t just visually busty, their interactions quite literally scream it too.

Gust may be best known for their fantastic Atelier series but it's great that they're branching out to new franchises. The environments fall flat to me, the hotel hub, though larger, doesn’t feel as charming as the original did and the enemies are meaningless fodder to the point that their designs lack meaning.

Even if you like this kind of titillation, this is a remarkably poor example of it. I get where people are coming from with the hate, I just genuinely don't share it nor did I find any of the negatives all that damning. While cutscenes and key animations are beautifully executed, it’s the free-roaming animations and visuals within Hotel Erena and excursions beyond it that suffer from lack of attention and detail. “Aluche is flawless” fan fiction mentality. You have the protagonist, the childhood best friend, the cold and scientific older woman, the mentor, the emotionless girl who doesn't understand what "happy" means, the chipper and naive child, etc.

Women, swords, and Japanese a recipe that should be on anyone's menu. That said, a few Servans are incredibly useful against enemies with a lot of health. Meanwhile, the two fiends each have special abilities that you can trigger at your will as long as they have the necessary MP available. CGmagazine gave it a low score mainly because it objectifies women. Not too sold on the storyline but will continue to give it a few more hours before I have a final verdict. Cool collector's edition item that you have to own! The Servan system returns from the original game, but in a watered-down form. Additionally, the PC port is quite lacking in regards to graphics options, allowing players to just change resolution and enable depth of field. Still, there’s a touch of class in its composition that clashes with much of the game’s other design choices. It's not a graphically intensive game, so there should be no reason for this kind of failing. Lily Burst, Double Chase and Active Skill all require the player’s button input but all tend to be quite powerful. If you haven't played the first game, don't worry about it you don't really need to know anything about it. Critic Reviews Unfortunately, what I like about the character interactions is overshadowed by the bizarre choice to make everybody a little horny for Aluche. As a result you can see the "jaggies." Excellent music and visuals. Some people may over look this game due to its anime aesthetic and story but if you don’t mind that this is a fu game to play. Initially stepping into Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, it feels even worse than the first outing. Sound effects would oddly be missing in some areas, especially Double Chase attacks. Combat itself feels loose, even when locked on to a target and it’s a simple button masher at its worst, with mild strategy featuring Servan and ally abilities at its best.

Nights of Azure was a surprising game for me: it wasn't amazing as an action game and very poor as an RPG, but it was still a very fun game. Nights of Azure, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta. This makes setting them to "Focus" the ideal choice, so they're always attacking fiends you are locked onto. Regardless, combat is still simplistic and does get repetitive, but with more variability and customization options it feels like less of a drag and more so connected to the overall story.
